Carnevale a regola d'arte celebrates the most colourful festival of the year with fun and culture, in the Museums of Roma Capitale and in the territory with themed guided tours, educational activities and workshops not to be missed from Saturday 1 to Tuesday 4 March.

Saturday 1 March appointment at the Museum of Rome at Palazzo Braschi to spend an afternoon of learning, exploration and creativity in the rooms of the historic building, learn more about ancient Roman Carnival and make period accessories in the Braschi Lab.

On Sunday 2 March, at the archaeo-paleontological site of the Museum of Casal de' Pazzi, the young participants will receive a free ornament to help them identify with various Pleistocene characters, while at the Napoleonic Museum, amidst games and riddles, an animated masked tour and a workshop will reveal the secrets of the “sentimental” jewellery that belonged to the Bonaparte family.

On Shrove Tuesday, 4 March, there will be an exclusive visit to the basement of the Palazzo dell'Anagrafe Civile in Via Petroselli, where Orfeo Tamburi's great fresco Carnevale Romano is preserved, and, at the Gallery of Modern Art of Roma Capitale, a visit to the exhibition L'estetica della deformazione. Protagonisti dell'espressionismo italiano to learn about the forms and masks of expressionist research.

All activities are free of charge with payment of the museum entrance fee, where applicable, free of charge for Roma MIC Card holders. Access to the exhibitions is free for Roma MIC Card holders, except for the exhibition Roma Pittrice. Artiste al lavoro tra XVI e XIX secolo at the Museum of Rome in Palazzo Braschi, which requires a reduced entrance fee with Roma MIC Card.
