Only a few more days to admire the Trevi Fountain from the walkway set up during the ordinary maintenance work.
Great is the appreciation shown by the more than 200,000 Roman citizens and tourists so far, so on Sunday 8 December it will be possible to enjoy this privileged view of the iconic monument with extended opening hours until 10 p.m. for the last time, before the dismantling operations that will begin the following day.
The maintenance work will have to go on for another ten days or so and will be completed by Christmas to allow the fountain to reopen during the festive season.
We would like to remind you that thanks to the walkway, it is possible to enjoy a new and unusual viewpoint of the splendid 18th century fountain, a masterpiece by Nicola Salvi.
Following this, restoration work will also begin on the small Fontana degli Innamorati (Fountain of the Lovers), the rectangular basin that, located on the outer right side of the Trevi fountain, invites couples to drink to remain in love and faithful forever, as legend has it.
The work is expected to be completed in time for the start of Pope Francis' Jubilee.
