A road rally dedicated to vehicles powered by alternative fuels and propulsions, from electric to hybrid, LPG, methane and biomethane, hydrogen and biodiesel. Now in its second edition, the Roma Eco Race is organized by Automobile Club Roma and Punto Gas on the occasion of European Mobility Week. Its aim is to raise public and institutional awareness of the importance of adopting environmentally friendly transportation solutions and is open to all eco-car enthusiasts, as long as they are on board a vehicle approved for circulation.
The event takes place over a distance of approximately 200 kilometers that enhances the historical and natural beauty of Rome and the metropolitan city from a ‘green’ point of view and encourages sustainable tourism. After technical scrutineering in the afternoon of Friday 11 October, on Saturday 12 October the crews will meet in Piazza Bocca della Verità, and then continue towards the Castelli Romani area and the province of Frosinone, with the finish line in Fiuggi, one of the most important and ancient spa towns in Europe.
The competition allows drivers to obtain points valid for the Trofeo Green Endurance and Green Challenge Cup motoring competitions, and takes place at the same time as the second Roma Eco Race Press - Memorial Fiammetta La Guidara, reserved for automotive journalists and media. A new feature of the second edition are the Green Parks, real travelling exhibition spaces that host the competing vehicles: an important opportunity to publicize sustainable mobility and raise public awareness of eco-sustainable choices in work, family, leisure and sport.
