The Morricone Night dance show at the Teatro Argentina, as part of the RomaEuropa Festival, represents a tribute that the Centro Choreografico Nazionale/Aterballetto pays to Ennio Morricone, through its new production signed by the Spanish choreographer Marcos Morau, one of the most prominent choreographers of the contemporary panorama.
The piece, conceived by Morau's visionary energy, represents an extraordinary creation, which intertwines the music of Oscar winner Ennio Morricone with dance, visual arts and cinematographic suggestions. We therefore find all that musical pieces for the cinema of Oscar winner Ennio Morricone, which has greatly influenced the Italian and international collective imagination - from Nuovo cinema Paradiso (New cinema Paradiso) to Once Upon a Time in America; from Per un pugno di dollari (A Fistful of Dollars) to Scarpe Rotte Broken Shoes – at the centre of the show, in a writing capable of harmonizing dreamlike dimensions, reality and symbolism, contaminating languages and aesthetics.
Marcos Morau, the youngest choreographer to have obtained the National Dance Award - the highest recognition in Spain - in his creations invents imaginary worlds and visions of landscapes, where image, text, movement, music and space constitute a universe part that is constantly inspired by cinema, photography and literature.
