A monument of great charm in the center of ancient Rome, to be rediscovered and visited for free. The large four-faced arch located at the crossroads between the Velabrum and the Forum Boarium dates back to the fourth century, and has been embellished for some years with permanent lighting donated by Fondazione Alda Fendi - Esperimenti and designed by Vittorio and Francesca Storaro. Since the 16th century it is commonly known as Arch of Janus but it is probably to be identified with the Arcus Costantini mentioned in ancient sources. A hypothesis confirmed by the latest restorations that have brought to the light the first three letters of an inscription: COS.

Closed for almost thirty years and then accessible only with a paid guided tour, from 13 November the Arch of Janus will open again for free to the public once a week. Every Saturday, from 10 am to 2 pm (from April from 4 pm to 8 pm) visitors can admire its imposing structure and discover the surrounding archaeological area, a site that experienced intense commercial activity but was also a religious center housing the Temple of Hercules Victor and the Temple of Portunus.
