The Swedish choreographer Jefta Van Dinther presents his latest creation On Earth I'm Done at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, a sort of "diptych" on the past and the future, which has as its main theme the relationship between man and nature and reflections on co-living with the different forms of earthly existence. In fact, in the show, two different choreographic landscapes, pervaded by dark atmospheres, define opposite choreographic landscapes.
In Mountains, we find the evocation of the mountains, a metaphor for the conflicting feeling between love and hate that human beings feel towards a world in constant evolution. The performance raises questions about the end of existence and the care of the planet. In Island, on the other hand, a wider formation of dancers takes us back in time where a group of human beings must rebuild their lives and learn the mechanisms again.
Jefta Van Dinther, an artist associated with the Swedish Cullberg, one of the most important Northern European dance groups, is a choreographer and dancer who works between Stockholm and Berlin. His work is characterized by a rigorous approach impling a scenic research of movement. The moving body is at the center of his practice, always related to the light, sound and materials present on the scene. The meaning of the human being, the relationship with society, the community and the environment are the focus of his artistic research. Van Dinther was awarded the Birgit Cullberg Grant by the Swedish Arts Grants Committee in 2012. He received the Swedish Theatrecritic's Danceprize 2013 for Plateau Effect, which was also selected for the 2015 Swedish Biennial of Performing Arts.
