Settecento illuminato: the guided visits restart at Palazzo Barberini

Palazzo Barberini -Settecento illuminato
from 8 October 2020 to 30 June 2021

The Gallerie Nazionali di Arte Antica in Rome open the doors of the famous apartment of Palazzo Barberini decorated by Princess Cornelia Costanza Barberini and her husband Prince Giulio Cesare Colonna di Sciarra, in the second half of the 18th century.

The collection preserves notable works from Italian and foreign artists such as Maratti, Batoni, and Canaletto, Subleyras, Mengs, and van Wittel. The path includes the paintings of the donation of the Duke of Cervinara, with the refined canvases by Fragonard and Boucher, and those of the Lemme donation, with the rare sketches by Corvi and Ghezzi.

The visits are available in the morning at 11 am or in the afternoon at 4 pm, on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, with the exception of holidays and days with free admission and upon purchase of the entrance ticket to the Museum.
