The exhibition is the world of honey bees, their complex social organization and the fundamental role they play for the conservation of plant and animal biodiversity.
Bees are, moreover, important biological indicators able of providing us, through their presence or their products, information about the environment and pollution.
The exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to have a unique experience: a journey inside a beehive recreated with a multimedia simulation. The exhibition itinerary guides us through the equipment used in beekeeping, the bee breeding techniques aimed at the production of honey, propolis and royal jelly and the multiple applications of these products in the food, medical and agricultural fields.
The public is accompanied on the visit by the mascot of the exhibition, the Bee Agnes, the protagonist of a game-quiz with multiple answers through the free "AppAgnese" App, which you can download on all mobile devices.
The questions of the App want to be a stimulus to reflect on the causes of the progressive disappearance of bees, and on the need to adopt new behaviors helping these extraordinary insects to survive. Once the game is completed, the visitor displays the "Certificate of awareness and commitment" on their App which can then be shared on social networks with the hashtag #iostoconlapeagnese.
The exhibition is promoted by Roma Culture, the Capitoline Superintendence for Cultural Heritage, with the organization of Zètema Progetto Cultura.
