Pre-tournament draw ceremony in Piazza di Spagna. Open to the public
The history of tennis in our country changed thanks to an awaited upgrade: the Internazionali BNL d'Italia, the most important Italian men's and women's tennis tournament, became like a mini Slam.
From 2023, the tournament will evolve into a larger show to offer hundreds of thousands of fans who flock to the Parco del Foro Italico every year a more intense and rich experience to admire all the most acclaimed protagonists of the international circuit.
The men’s main draw of the 80th edition of the prestigious tournament passes from 56 to 96 players. The competition increases its duration from eight to twelve days, as for the ATP Master 1000 in Madrid and Shanghai, and as already happens for the tournaments of Miami Open and Indian Wells.
For the flagship of our tennis, the prize money becomes more consistent with a gradual increase of 48% within 2025: It goes from the current $ 62.5 million to 76.4 with further increases in the following years.
Qualifiers will take place on 8 and 9 May.
